From your morning shower to your nightly skincare routine, we spend a lot of time in the shower and let’s face it, there’s nothing worse than a messy bathroom that challenges your daily life. It is therefore important to find the right solutions to organize and maximize the smallest spaces. Here we’ve rounded up a few ideas for bathroom storage especially when you’re a renter living in a cramped apartment. As always, start by getting rid of the products and accessories you don’t need, and assign each item a home. If you have the floor space, bring in a cabinet, organizer, or wheeled cart for extra storage.
HANG SHELVES IN THE WINDOW
Make room for everyday things like hair products and cosmetics by installing shelves in the window. Just remember that some skin care products (like vitamin C serum) should not be stored in bright light.
ORGANIZE YOUR BATHROOM
Maximize room space by grouping, labeling, and organizing everything you own. Use large baskets for extra beds, clear containers for toiletries and color-matched baskets to make laundry day fun.
CLEAN UP YOUR VANITY DRAWERS
Believe it or not, simply organizing your drawers will give you more room to store produce. Use box dividers to separate items. Choose from several sizes, one for hair ties and clips, and one for irons, hair dryers and brushes.
HIDE ITEMS INSIDE BASKETS OR BINS
Think inside, not outside: shelves inside don’t take up much space, but maximize your storage space. Fill them with labelled containers, put folded towels right on the shelves, or find a way to do both.
GET SMART WITH SHELVING
Three solid wood shelves add style and storage to your room. Store laundry and everyday supplies (hand soap) on the bottom shelves, then put other non-essentials on top.
USE EVERY INCH FOR STORAGE
Do you prefer a small space with thoughtful shelves? Products such as moisturizer and body wash can be placed on the lower shelves, and cleaning products can be placed on top.
MAKE GOOD USE OF THE WALL
Free up valuable space by placing shelves and accessories on the wall. Open bathroom vanities, like the one shown here, keep the room cool, but don’t skimp on storage: add a large basket underneath to hold some towels or toilet paper.
